Multipave Infrastructure has been recognised with four prestigious accolades at the 2026 Chartered Institution of Highways & Transportation (CIHT) Awards, celebrating innovation, sustainability, safety and inclusion across the highways sector.
At the CIHT Annual Awards 2026, the company was Commended in the Product of the Year category for Eco-phalt Bio, the UK’s first independently verified carbon negative Cold Recycled Bound Material (CRBM). The recognition marks a significant milestone for both the business and the future of sustainable highway infrastructure.
The success continued at the North West CIHT Awards 2026, where the company received Highly Commended recognition in three categories:
Environment and Sustainability – for Eco-phalt Bio, recognising its verified carbon-negative credentials and its contribution to delivering more sustainable highways across Blackpool, Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.
Safety and Wellbeing – for its Resetting Safety Culture programme, which has transformed safety through a behaviour-led and inclusive approach. As a result, proactive safety observations increased by 700% between 2025 and the first two months of 2026.
Equality and Diversity – Dan’s Journey – highlighting the company’s commitment to inclusive recruitment and creating meaningful opportunities for people from all backgrounds.
John Ralphs at Multipave Infrastructure, said:
“Receiving four commendations across two award ceremonies is a fantastic achievement and reflects our continued commitment to innovation, safer working practices, environmental leadership and building a more inclusive industry.
“Congratulations to all the winners and finalists recognised at this year’s CIHT Awards.”
Further shortlisting’s cap off a strong year for Multipave
Multipave has also been shortlisted for two further industry awards this year. At the Highways UK Excellence Awards 2026, the company is up for the Sustainability Award, for its Langdale Road maintenance scheme, delivered in partnership with Blackpool Council.
At the Highways Awards 2026, Multipave has been shortlisted for Product of the Year for Eco-Phalt Bio, recognising its journey from low carbon innovation to carbon negative reality. Eco-Phalt Bio is the UK’s first carbon negative cold recycled bound material with an independently verified Environmental Product Declaration, offering a genuine drop-in replacement for hot-mix asphalt, with no redesign, no specialist plant and no compromise on performance.
Winners of the Highways Awards will be announced on 23rd September in London, with the Highways UK Excellence Awards winners revealed on 14th October in Birmingham.
