Strictly Highways 2026 brought the highways community together at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, from 6–8 October for three days of networking, knowledge sharing, collaboration and celebration.
Now in its ninth year, LCRIG’s flagship event welcomed hundreds of delegates from across the highways and road infrastructure technology sector – connecting local authorities, the Department for Transport (DfT), and the wider supply chain for three days of learning, collaboration, and celebration.
From insightful conference sessions and conversations across the exhibition to the DfT Special Recognition Awards, there was plenty to celebrate.
Take a look back at some of the highlights from Strictly Highways 2026, captured across three memorable days in Blackpool.
Afternoon Tea & Evening Networking
The event began with a relaxed afternoon tea, followed by an evening of networking, bringing delegates together ahead of two packed days of conference sessions, discussions and opportunities to connect with colleagues from across the sector.
On the Main Stage
Across two days, speakers and panellists shared practical case studies, industry updates and new approaches to some of the biggest challenges facing local highways.
Topics ranged from highways maintenance, funding and network resilience to innovation, digital technology, sustainability, skills and collaboration.
Exhibition Area
The exhibition provided a busy space for delegates to meet suppliers, explore products and services, discover innovations and continue conversations beyond the conference sessions.
Celebrating Excellence: DfT Special Recognition Awards
The DfT Special Recognition Awards were another highlight of Strictly Highways 2026, bringing the highways community together to celebrate the people, projects and organisations making a positive difference across the sector.
The evening began with a drinks reception, giving guests the opportunity to catch up with colleagues before the awards ceremony got underway and the winners were announced.
