SRL Records LTIFR of Zero in 12 Month Rolling Period, Reinforcing Its Vision, Mission and Safety Leadership

SRL has reported its first-ever LTIFR of zero across a 12‑month rolling period – a major milestone that reflects the company’s commitment to safer roads, safer work zones and safer communities. In a sector where LTIFR rates typically sit between 0.20 and 0.40 per 100,000 hours worked, SRL’s performance places it significantly ahead of established industry benchmarks.

This achievement directly reinforces SRL’s vision: Safer roads and lower-carbon communities through smarter temporary traffic systems. And to deliver its mission: Set the standard in temporary traffic systems with connected equipment and a customer-first experience.

Safety sits at the forefront of everything SRL does, and this result demonstrates what is possible when safety is owned at every level of the organisation. It also reflects SRL’s broader focus areas that drive safer roads, including strengthened safe‑working practices, improved behavioural safety, technology‑enabled reporting, and continuous improvement across depots and field operations.

SRL attributes the result to strengthened safe‑working practices, increased near‑miss reporting, and a rise in safety observations that help identify risks before incidents occur. These measures have contributed to a more open reporting culture and improved risk visibility across depots and field operations.  The company also recognises the vital role played by its SHEQ team, whose leadership and consistency have supported colleagues across the UK and Ireland in embedding safer ways of working.

“Our LTIFR result is a direct reflection of the commitment shown by our people,” said Paul Lewis, CEO of SRL. “Safety is fundamental to the service we provide and the communities we support. Achieving zero lost‑time injuries over a full year shows what’s possible when safety is truly at the forefront of everything we do. It reinforces our vision, our mission, and our responsibility to set the standard for our sector. I’m incredibly proud of every colleague who has contributed to this achievement.”

SRL emphasises that this result is not a finish line but a standard it intends to maintain. “This milestone shows what can be achieved when safety is owned by every colleague, every day,” said Miguel Vicos, COO of SRL. “Our focus now is to build on this momentum through continued investment in training, behavioural safety, technology‑enabled reporting.”
