We are thrilled to announce that the LCRIG community has achieved a significant milestone this week, reaching 350 members. We are delighted to welcome Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, and Walsall Council to out ever-growing community. With these latest additions, our total number of council members has grown to 127, contributing to 350 members overall.

New Council Members Share Their Excitement
Councillor Allcock – Cabinet Member for Environment and Highways at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council expressed his enthusiasm about joining the LCRIG community: “Sandwell Council is delighted to become a full member of LCRIG. Sandwell has an excellent Highway Service with a track-record of great performance in maintaining our local roads.
“We look forward to sharing our experience, learning more about best practice and innovation through the various focus groups and working collaboratively with like- minded partners across the industry. We also welcome the opportunity to develop our talented people and play a full part in finding a sustainable future for the highway industry.”
Paul Darlow, Traffic and Network Manager at Portsmouth City Council highlighted the collaborative approach of his team: “As active participants in the Transport Technology Forum (TTF) for the last six years, Portsmouth City Council is now pleased to have joined LCRIG and become part of an even larger community of local authorities and suppliers. It is clear that our roads need to deliver more than ever before and this is going to require use of new technologies and innovative approaches.
“Membership of LCRIG enables better collaborative working and the sharing of experiences, learning from both the successes and failures of others. Being part of a like-minded community of people all facing similar issues is clearly a cost-effective way for the UK to move forward to smarter usage and maintenance of our road network assets.”

As a growing community of over 300 members consisting of government, local authorities, national organisations, supply chain, academia and associations, LCRIG is actively facilitating positive change and innovation in the highways sector.
