Roadern to Launch AI-Powered Traffic Sign Assessment at LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival

We’re excited to announce that Roadern will be launching its new AI-powered Traffic Sign Assessment feature at next month’s LCRIG Innovation and Learning Festival.

The new feature offers a faster, more scalable way for local authorities to assess traffic sign condition, visibility, and compliance across their networks, enabling authorities to capture road imagery using standard smartphones and receive engineer-verified traffic sign data within 24 hours.

Using AI aligned with UK standards, the platform automatically identifies traffic sign types and assesses their condition, helping authorities understand not only which signs require attention, but also which assets are most critical to prioritise for maintenance and repair. This gives councils rapid visibility into network condition while significantly reducing the time and cost associated with traditional inspections.

To demonstrate the technology live at the festival, the Roadern team will survey a nearby road network the day before the event. Visitors to the stand will then be able to explore the processed data directly within the platform, experiencing firsthand the speed, accuracy, and practicality of the system using real roads around the venue.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to interact with the platform themselves, review detected assets and condition assessments, and see how AI-assisted workflows can support more proactive and efficient asset management.

“We’re excited to launch this feature at LCRIG because the festival brings together the exact organisations we’re building this technology for,” said Afarin Kheirati, CEO of Roadern.

“Our goal is not just to demonstrate AI, but to show local authorities how quickly they can access engineer-verified, standards-compliant traffic sign data and use it to make faster, better-informed maintenance decisions. We want visitors to leave our stand having experienced the technology themselves, not just heard about it.”
