Durham County Council Saves Weeks of Time with NUAR

In its latest case study, the National Underground Asset Register (NUAR) highlights how Durham County Council is improving efficiency across its highways, drainage and street works teams through its adoption of the service.

Durham County Council has reported significant improvements in efficiency since becoming an early adopter of NUAR in 2023.

Previously, teams could wait several weeks for underground utility plans from multiple sources. Now, with almost 150 active users, the service provides faster access to standardised asset information, helping highways, drainage and street works teams identify underground services, plan works more effectively and support safer digging.

The case study also highlights how NUAR is improving collaboration between departments and helping reduce delays and costs across council operations.
