LCRIG is supporting its partner Askham Bryan College in promoting a vacancy for an experienced highways professional to join the college as a Highways Tutor, helping to develop its growing Highways Academy and support the next generation of highways talent.
Established through collaboration between LCRIG, the college, local authorities and industry partners, the Highways Skills Academy aims to address skills gaps and create new opportunities for people entering the highways sector. Its dedicated training environment includes a mock road and footpath, giving apprentices practical experience alongside their learning.
The academy has already welcomed its first cohort of 10 apprentices from City of York Council, Leeds City Council and Kirklees Council, who are undertaking their Level 2 Highways Maintenance Operative apprenticeship.
The new tutor will play an important role in supporting the academy’s continued development and delivering training that reflects the needs of the highways industry.
