In this week’s “View from the top”, I am writing this on behalf of myself and Martin.
At LCRIG, it won’t have escaped anyone’s notice that we’ve grown. Our influence increased, and the support we give to councils, members, associates and partners has expanded. Of course, with any growth it’s important to us that we keep the same magic that encourages our members to be part of all that we do.
When Martin was asked to be our part time Chief Executive in 2019, we didn’t dare to dream of the work we would be doing in so many areas around net zero, collaboration, skills and innovation. Nor, when I became one of the original board members of LCRIG, did I ever think that I would become a full-time employee working with fellow Directors, Kerry and Susanne, and the amazing team at LCRIG. But we have grown, we do have ambition and we do want to do more!
As a team, we work closely together, and we work for the sector. But to do more, Martin and I are changing our roles, especially as our work to support the sector is expanding. At this year’s Innovation Festival, Martin will officially become Chair of LCRIG, and I will become LCRIG’s Chief Executive. This means we retain Martin’s fantastic knowledge and sector insights, and I’ll represent LCRIG full time as Chief Executive to ensure that we continue to build on our successes with members, partners, government and the sector.
