Introducing Phase Two of the Knowledge & Innovation Network: Helping Innovation Move from Idea to Adoption

Discover practical support, sector insight and intelligence to help navigate the innovation journey from idea to adoption.

Over the years, we’ve heard the same challenges from members across the highways sector:

How do we get a new solution in front of the right people?

How do we understand what local authorities actually need?

Where can we find practical support to move an innovation forward?

Who has already tried something similar?

How do we move from a successful trial to wider adoption?

These challenges have helped shape the next stage of the LCRIG Knowledge & Innovation Network.

We’re proud to launch Phase Two, expanding the network with a greater focus on supporting innovation development, alongside further enhancements to the Local Authority Navigator, providing even more valuable insight into the local roads sector.

Developing the Local Authority Navigator

Phase Two sees the continued development of the Local Authority Navigator, bringing additional data and intelligence to an already valuable resource.

The Local Authority Navigator brings together key data and insights for every local authority across the UK in one interactive map, making it easier to understand and compare the local highways landscape. It provides a valuable tool for benchmarking authorities, identifying trends and exploring differences in areas such as funding, network condition, operating models and delivery approaches.

For suppliers, the Navigator turns this intelligence into practical market insight, helping to segment and understand your client base, identify where products or services are most relevant, and focus engagement on the authorities where there is the strongest alignment and opportunity.

Phase two introduces significant enhancements including key data and intelligence from the latest Transparency Reports submitted by local authorities last month.

These enhancements provide and even stronger evidence-based starting point for understanding the sector, identifying opportunities and making more informed decisions.

 Introducing the Innovation Network

The Innovation Network is a centralised and trusted support hub helping innovation move from idea to adoption across the local highways sector.

In its first phase of development, it’s especially useful for SMEs or Start Up organisations who are new to the market. It brings together practical information and guidance on developing innovation, including available support, opportunities to showcase new solutions and information on funding, all designed to help organisations progress along their innovation journey.

As the Hub develops, further tools and support will be introduced to help connect innovation with local authority needs and create clearer pathways to adoption and scale.

Connecting the innovation journey

Phase Two builds on our ambition to make trusted knowledge, data and sector intelligence easier to find and use, while providing practical support to help scale innovation.

The Knowledge & Innovation Network will continue to evolve and future phases include the launch of a dedicated resources area and the development of a growing library of case studies.

Discover the insight, evidence and practical support to help you take the next step from idea to adoption.
