Reflecting on a Successful LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival 2025

The LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival 2025 brought the highways community together for two inspiring days at NAEC Stoneleigh – and the feedback from delegates has been outstanding.

With record-breaking attendance, new features, and powerful moments of shared learning, this year’s festival was our biggest and boldest yet.

Positive Feedback Across the Board

This year’s survey reinforced what we already know – delegates see the Innovation & Learning Festival as a must-attend event for learning, collaboration, and innovation.

An incredible 97% of delegates said they are likely to attend future events and would recommend the festival to colleagues, underlining the value and impact of being part of the LCRIG community.

When asked to sum up the festival in three words, delegates chose phrases like informative, engaging, inspiring, innovative, and worthwhile. These responses highlight the spirit of innovation and collaboration that made the 2025 festival such a success.

Supporting Access and Growth

In 2025, we provided £220,000 of funded delegate places, enabling 400 fully funded attendees – including 61 apprentices. This support ensured that professionals at every stage of their careers – from new starters to senior leaders – could benefit from the insights, networking, and practical learning on offer.

The festival’s growth has been remarkable. Since its launch in 2022, delegate numbers have risen from 450 to 800, while public sector attendance has doubled from 201 to 400.

 Collaboration at the Core

With representatives from 97 local authorities, alongside government bodies and private sector organisations, the festival continues to be a hub of collaboration. Every conversation – from CPD sessions to coffee breaks – contributed to shaping the future of highways and transport technology.

Looking Ahead

We’re proud that the 2025 survey results show such strong satisfaction and value for delegates. From high-quality training to the launch of the DfT Special Recognition Apprentice Awards, the festival continues to grow in scale and impact.
