LCRIG welcomes Environment Agency as new Partner Member

This week, the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) welcomed Environment Agency as a Partner Member.

Enviorment Agency work to create better places for people and wildlife, and support sustainable development.

Paul Burrows, Delivery Assurance Manager at Environment Agency commented:

“I recently attended the excellent Strictly Highways 2022 conference and was struck by the similarity in challenges and the opportunity for collaboration within many topics that we share. From climate resilience, to skills, to asset management approaches, to decarbonisation to innovation, there is so much we could share across the flood and highways sectors for the benefit of the local communities we all serve. Highways Authorities also have legislative responsibilities under the Floods & Water Management Act 2011 and this provides a platform for collaborative infrastructure delivery through the multi-billion flood investment portfolios that we at the Environment Agency manage.

We are a large organisation covering England. In my role as point of contact for LCRIG, I’ll focus on helping identify opportunities for collaboration and information sharing, aiming to instigate connections between colleagues at the Environment Agency, LCRIG and your membership.”
