The session will feature a first-hand account from a local authority, currently Amber-rated and working to strengthen their spend and best-practice position, based on their own experience. It also covers two practical ways to respond: how asphalt rejuvenation fits into a preventative maintenance strategy, and how to procure it quickly and compliantly under the Procurement Act 2023.
The webinar will also offer local authority highway engineers’ guidance on DfT’s new transparency and incentive rules, featuring a real local authority’s account of its asset management decision-making. Like many audience participants, the local authority who will join the session is on its RAG journey and is not presenting a finished result. It also includes examples of best practice under the Procurement Act 2023 to act on.
