Introducing LCRIG’s Knowledge & Innovation Network: Strengthening How Our Sector Learns and Shares

LCRIG exists to support the sector through shared learning of practical solutions and genuine collaboration. Today, we’re excited to introduce the launch of the first phase of a new resource designed to do exactly that, the Knowledge & Innovation Network.

The purpose of the Knowledge & Innovation Network to help local authorities and suppliers exchange knowledge, understand innovation, access intelligence and strengthen sector-wide learning.

Phase One: Designed with local authority members in mind

For local authority members, the Knowledge & Innovation Network is built to make it easier to collaborate and learn from each other. It will enable local authority members to ask questions and get:

  • Practical solutions drawn from other local authorities’ experiences
  • Real-life insight from other authorities facing similar challenges
  • Guidance and examples that help you adopt innovation or strengthen your network with confidence.

Do you have a challenge and want to know how other local authority professionals have approached it? You can use the Network to ask a question to peers across local authorities here.

Phase one is now live and our aim is that the Knowledge & Innovation Network becomes your go-to space for answers, proven methods and shared learning.

Phase Two: Coming soon for corporate members

Phase two of the Knowledge & Innovation Network will offer corporate members even deeper intelligence, including:

  • Insight into local authority needs, priorities and decision-making
  • Clear guidance on procurement routes and the practical realities of innovation adoption
  • Sector-wide intelligence to help align solutions with what authorities actually want and need

This will help suppliers plan more strategically, respond more effectively and build stronger, more informed partnerships.

Kerry Winstanley, Managing Director at LCRIG said:

“Looking to 2026, we want innovation and learning to be part of everyday life, not just something that happens at events. Our new Knowledge & Innovation Network will be a key step in that journey, helping members share learning to make innovation adoption easier.”
