I’m stepping in whilst Paula has some well-deserved time off to give this week’s “View from the top” or should I say, “View from the middle’?!!
This week, I was kindly invited by Meon, one of our Associate Members, to attend their Live Expo 2024 event, on the theme of Collaborative Innovation from Research to Reality at Donnington Park Circuit.
It was brilliant to connect with industry leaders and like-minded individuals and explore the different possibilities of collaborative innovation. We heard from both public and private sector speakers who shared their thoughts, views and real-life experiences in innovation and collaboration.
As innovation and collaboration are two of our focus pillars at LCRIG, I was keen to hear more on how we can work together as a sector and learn from one another as well as learning from other sectors to share the learning and failures we have experienced.
There was one presentation that stood out for me, which was delivered by the Managing Director of Wilson & Scott Ltd, around the dangers of hot applied line markings and included a real life example. It highlighted that innovation in the sector can not only improve carbon saving, spend and durability but can actually improve the safety of operatives, which is paramount for any organisation.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to Meon for inviting me along to their event this week. I had a brilliant time and I even got to take part in the Fast Lap Passenger Experience, which was brilliant!
Last but not least, I would just like to mention how important it is for me to show my support to our members by attending events and open days that they host or invite me to. It provides me with an opportunity to meet the wider team of people I may not usually get to connect with, and it gives me a chance to learn more about the work that they are doing. I thoroughly enjoy taking part and building or continuing to build relationships with our members so please do keep me updated and reach out if you would like LCRIG to attend or support events that you are hosting.
