Course Spotlight: Setting Out for Construction
Our flagship five-day Setting Out for Construction course has been developed for junior civil engineers, graduates, construction operatives, groundworkers, site supervisors, foremen, and utilities and infrastructure professionals looking to build practical surveying and setting out skills.
Delegates receive extensive hands-on experience using industry-standard Trimble Total Station equipment (with Leica also available), alongside classroom-based learning covering the core principles of engineering surveying and construction setting out.
By the end of the programme, learners will be able to:
- Set up and operate a robotic Total Station.
- Understand surveying principles, coordinate systems and construction drawings.
- Carry out building, foundation and infrastructure setting out.
- Complete drainage, curve and alignment setting out.
- Perform levelling, coordinate calculations and quality assurance checks.
- Collect, transfer and manage survey data for use on site.
With modern construction projects increasingly reliant on accurate surveying and digital workflows, this course equips delegates with practical, job-ready skills that can add immediate value on site.
