Fox Group has supported Hoole St Michael CE Primary School in transforming its outdoor spaces, funding and delivering a range of improvements to create safer, more practical areas for learning, play and reflection.
As a small primary school with limited funding, maintaining and redeveloping its outdoor spaces had become increasingly difficult. Over time, areas intended for learning, play and reflection had fallen into disrepair, limiting how pupils could use and enjoy them.
The school had plans to improve these spaces ahead of its Hoole Fest celebration on 15th July. Work began during the May half-term and, thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, all work was completed in time for the event.
Fox Group’s Contribution
As part of the project, Fox Group funded and delivered a number of improvements across the school grounds.
These included:
- Installing a new paved patio to provide a solid base for a new outdoor classroom.
- Purchasing and arranging delivery of a new gazebo to create a sheltered learning space.
- Transforming the outdoor gym area by removing the existing mud surface and replacing it with artificial grass.
Together, these improvements have created safer, more practical outdoor spaces that pupils and staff can use throughout the year.
A Community Effort
This project represented a significant investment of time, expertise and resources from across Fox Group, but seeing the finished spaces ready for pupils to enjoy made every effort worthwhile. Fox Group also recognised the team at JJ O’Grady, part of Fox Group, who carried out the majority of the work on site and played a key role in bringing the project to life.
Projects like this show what can be achieved when local businesses work alongside schools to improve facilities that will benefit children for years to come.
