At the heart of Fox Group’s materials processing operations, the organisation operates an advanced CDE wash plant, which plays a key role in delivering efficiency, sustainability, and high-quality outputs. The plant plays a central role in transforming granular spoil generated from site works into valuable, reusable construction materials.
Designed for high output and efficiency, the wash plant processes more than 2,000 tonnes of granular spoil each day. Under optimal conditions, the experienced team has demonstrated the plant’s full capability by increasing throughput to as much as 2,500 tonnes per day, highlighting both the robustness of the equipment and the expertise of those managing it.
Through the washing process, a range of high-quality construction aggregates is recovered and refined. These include two grades of sand (0-2mm and 0-4mm), along with several clean stone products such as 10mm pipe bedding, 20mm pipe bedding, 40mm clean stone, and 75mm clean stone. Each material is produced to support a variety of civil engineering and construction applications.
A key component of the operation is the filter press, one of the largest of its kind in the UK. This system efficiently removes excess water from fine materials generated during processing, producing a manageable filter cake while recycling water back into the system. This significantly reduces waste and enhances the sustainability of the overall process.
Through this integrated and efficient operation, the organisation continues to supply high-quality recycled aggregates, supporting construction projects while reducing the reliance on virgin materials and reinforcing its commitment to sustainable resource management.
