Celebrating Local Heroes: Nominate a Local Authority Star for the 2025 DfT Special Recognition Awards

Behind every great local authority project is a dedicated individual making things happen – someone who goes the extra mile, serves their community with passion, and drives real change. The DfT Special Recognition Awards honour these individuals through the Best of Britain Award.

This award is inspired by Will Britain, founder of LCRIG, and celebrates individuals in local government who have gone above and beyond to serve their communities and drive change. The award will be presented as part of Strictly Highways 2025, taking place from 30 September – 02 October in Blackpool.
