Gautam ZEN UK has announced a major milestone for its bio-based solutions following a collaborative trial led by National Highways and AtkinsRéalis demonstrating how innovation & research can go hand in hand.
XyloBIND ™ is a Lignin-based BioBinder, manufactured in the UK by Gautam ZEN UK it was successfully used in the first-ever asphalt surface course trial on the Strategic Road Network (SRN).
This groundbreaking project demonstrates the real-world potential of bio-based solutions to improve the durability of road surfaces while significantly reducing carbon emissions. The trial was conducted in partnership with Holcim UK and Gautam Zen UK, with more Next Generation Asphalts to follow in the months ahead.
