Last week’s Strictly Highways reached an exciting new milestone, with a record-breaking attendance of over 469 delegates from across both the public and private sectors. The ‘Strictly magic’ was truly alive throughout the three-day event, bringing together the whole highways community, including councils, the Department for Transport (DfT), academia, industry associations, the supply chain, and media. Many have already called this year’s event ‘the best Strictly Highways yet!’
The event provided a unique platform for sharing insights into the latest innovations and technologies, exchanging experiences and ideas, receiving updates from the DfT, and shining a spotlight on the highways and transport technology sector.
The carefully crafted agenda was centred around four core themes, which guided discussions and presentations throughout:
- Collaboration: Highlighting how councils and partners are working together
- Innovation: Exploring what’s new, what’s in development, and how innovations are being turned into real-world solutions.
- Skills: Showcasing practical examples of skills development across different age groups, ensuring the sector is prepared for the future.
- Adaptation and Decarbonisation: Offering ideas and practical insights into how to decarbonise.
The exhibition hall was filled with energy, and there was a buzz of excitement in the air as delegates networked and engaged with over 50 exhibitors representing the highways and transport technology sector. It was an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products and services to more than 70 local authorities from England, Scotland and Wales.
