LCRIG welcomes new members

This week, the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) welcomed Naue Geosynthetics Ltd, Blue Phoenix UK and Peacock Salt as Associate Members and North Somerset Environment Company Limited as a Council Member.

Naue Geosynthetics Ltd provides customers with comprehensive solution competence and technical expertise and creates reliable planning and implementation concepts.

Chris Quirk, Managing Director at Naue said: “Naue is a leading manufacturers of geosynthetics used in all aspects of infrastructure, especially roads. We are committed to innovation such as our range of non-plastic products and are committed to using and designing with our products to reduce the carbon footprint of construction projects. The aims and goal of LCRIG are wholly compatible with our company mission”.

 

Blue Phoenix recycle ash and extract ferrous and nonferrous metals, while producing a final clean mineral for reuse such as aggregates.

Ben Foster, Technical Sales Support Manager said: “We are looking to engage and collaborate with Local Authorities to assist them with achieving their CO2 emissions targets by providing a more sustainable alternative to primary aggregate and promote a circular economy”.

 

Peacock Salt supply de-icing salt and winter equipment to local authorities, businesses and private individuals. The product range includes liquids, which offer low working temperatures, as well as low and noncorrosive and longer-lasting de-icers which have been developed during extensive trials throughout the UK.

Greg Waters, Sales Director said: “We’re delighted to join LCRIG. After attending their events last year, we got a sense of their ability to bring the industry together and drive improvements. We know that Winter Maintenance is just one piece of the puzzle but we hope to contribute to this community, bring our expertise to the table and learn and better understand the challenges that Councils are facing.”

 

 

North Somerset Environment Company (NSEC) Limited have joined LCRIG as a Council Member.

NSEC are the local authority front-line service of waste and recycling for North Somerset Council, delivering improved service, resilience and cost savings to the residents of North Somerset.

 

LCRIG provides Members with a unique platform to engage with councils, the DfT and the wider highways community.

By joining LCRIG you will connect with a community of like-minded councils, organisations and individuals, all of whom are driving change through innovation and technological advances across the local roads network.

LCRIG has four membership types:

Local highway authorities and ‘Teckal’ organisations.

Organisations providing products or services to the highways sector.

Government and professional bodies, associations, working/research groups.

Universities and academic research organisations.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), accredited to ISO44001, the international standard for collaboration, LCRIG’s purpose is to ‘give back to the community’ and we are not for profit.
