Paul Richardson, the owner of 2Innov8, has an ambitious aim to transform safety management and achieve zero incidents and accidents within the workplace. He has developed an App and digital platform designed to help bring this plan to reality. Here, he catches up with LCRIG Content Director Alec Peachey.
Q. What is the purpose of the App that you’ve created?
A. “The Connected Safety Net digital platform has been developed to support the desire to make our workplace safe and secure. By automating processes digitally and eliminating manual tasks this will create opportunity to invest management time and effort into prevention rather than manual administrative tasks. For example a typical employer liability claim requires over 300 paper forms to complete the end to end defence of a claim.”
“Connected Safety Net enables live incident capture and push notifications, speech to text and digital forms that provide a perfect opportunity to automate processes. It provides a perfect platform to have a one stop shop for all your safety needs, further supported by our online e-learning compliance training.
Q. Who is it designed to help?
A. “The connected Safety Net solution will support employees working in a safer environment as management time will be more focused on prevention rather then administrative processes. Business managers will have live data to assess risk and direct appropriate resources and actions to where there are most needed.”
Q. What type of benefits will the App bring to users?
A. “Up to 60% efficiency of management time that can be redirected into prevention. Up to 30% cost savings on claims paid through better defence and reduced incidence.”
Q. How long did it take to develop the App?
A. “The connected Safety Net solution has been well researched over the last three years, the App is very intuitive and will help provide quick and easy management of safety tasks.”
Q. What’s your background and why did you decide to develop the App?
A. “I am excited to be leading the opportunity of Connected Safety Net that will provide many businesses a real opportunity to transform. My experience working for a large global supply chain organisation has enabled me to understand the complexities and challenges safety management presents to business.
“The experience I bring to this opportunity includes leading complexed operational business units as managing director for the last 24 years. This also includes the last three years as chief innovation officer developing transformational solutions that change the way we do business,
Q. What are your hopes for the App?
A. “My ambition will be to provide a solution that takes full advantage of the latest technologies that benefit from digitalisation. My aim is to transform safety management that provides a real opportunity to achieve zero incidents and accidents within the workplace.”
Q. Why is the digitalisation of information so important?
A. “Digital transformation has been one of the greatest revolutions we have seen in the way technology can truly transform the way we do things. Safety management is by far one of the most complex tasks that we have to manage, this is a perfect environment to enable technology to help us save lives and improve business efficiency and cost.
“By digitalising processes we are able to use techniques such as machine learning and AI that will accelerate our desire to improve our working environments. Our future vision is to predict in advance of incidents happening by aggravating data and using this to analyse trends and potential risks.”
Q. What type of feedback have you had from the sector?
A. “We have received tremendous enthusiasm for the power we can bring to the sector of safety management. Protecting lives and improving business performance is at the heart of every organisation that wants to be a market leader. Safety should always be one of the top subjects of focus. Great organisations care about their employees and recognise they are the greatest asset an organisation has to be successful.”
Q. Is the App currently being used by companies in the sector and what type of results are they achieving?
A. “The app has been primarily developed for the logistics and supply chain industry however the product has been designed to be agile and can be easily adapted to any business sector.”
Q. Companies in the highway sector rightly put safety first, so how will the App help them to meet their objectives?
A. “By using the connected Safety Net product businesses will have an incredible opportunity to transform safety processes by making this an integral part of daily life and giving everybody transparency of what business is doing proactively to ensure we achieve a zero incident and accident environment.”
