About the position
We have a rewarding opportunity for a focused individual that welcomes change and can drive forward and shape new ways of service. This is a senior role and offers diverse and challenging projects which will broaden your skill set. As Team Leader, you will:
- Place a strong emphasis on the quality of travel plans secured via the planning process to ensure they are fulfilling their obligations
- Help to shape our relevant guidance such as the Transport SPD
- Oversee the delivery of sustainable travel initiatives, programmes, education, events and communications
- Be involved in exciting programmes and events including School Streets and the public bike hire scheme
- Be committed to helping us to transform the way people travel around Leeds
- Engage with Leeds employers and work closely with other experienced professionals Highways and Transportation and partners
The post is based at Merrion House in Leeds City Centre with most staff currently working from home. It is full time (37 hours a week) with flexible working hours.
About you
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, innovative, ambitious and care about sustainable travel. You will have:
- A degree level qualification in Transport Planning or a relevant field or extensive and comparable experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of advice, assessment and monitoring of travel plans in relation to development proposals and planning application
- Knowledge of monitoring/accreditation tools such as iTrace and Modeshift STARS
- The ability to develop and contribute to key priority projects and programmes to influence travel behaviour and promote safe and sustainable travel
- Great presentation skills and the ability and enthusiasm to present to a wide range of people.
- Proven leadership skills including demonstrated ability to engage and motivate people.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills with a focus on achieving the best outcome for the community.
