Fox Group is working in partnership with the HMP Prison Service to employ Category D prisoners as part of their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
This initiative plays an important role in supporting individuals as they transition back into the community and helps reduce the likelihood of reoffending. By providing meaningful employment opportunities, Fox Group aims to give participants a renewed sense of purpose and a clear pathway for life after release. In many cases, it can offer full time employment with the company upon completion of their sentence.
The recruitment process begins with visits to the prison, where candidates who have applied are interviewed and hold the relevant licences required for the role.
Following the interviews, the prison authorities are informed of of the candidates Fox Group wishes to employ. The prison service then begins the process of preparing the necessary documentation to allow the individual to be released on licence for work. This process typically takes around two weeks.
On their first day with Fox Group, each participant receives a full company uniform and completes a comprehensive company induction. They then undertake one to two weeks of practical training on the wagon alongside a qualified driver trainer. Once the training period has been successfully completed, they are allocated their own wagon and begin working alongside existing employees as part of the wider team.
