Following its formation in 2025, LCRIG’s Apprenticeship Task Group has set out an ambitious roadmap for the year ahead, with 2026 shaping up to be an exciting and impactful year for apprentices across the sector.
At the centre of the group’s plans is the Apprenticeship Network, designed to bring apprentices together and provide a central hub for news, opportunities and sector initiatives. This network will help apprentices stay connected, informed and supported throughout their careers.
To further enhance learning and development, the group will deliver a series of webinars throughout the year. These sessions will provide practical guidance, insights from industry experts and peer-to-peer learning to help apprentices succeed in their studies and professional journeys.
The Apprenticeship Task Group will also play a key role in shaping the LCRIG Innovation & Learning Festival 2026, ensuring it delivers meaningful and engaging content for apprentices. The group will help develop workshops that reflect the needs of apprentices at every stage of their development, making the event a valuable learning experience for all.
In addition, the group will continue to support and promote the DfT Special Recognition Apprentice Awards, celebrating emerging talent and encouraging continued growth within the highways and road infrastructure technology sector.
