The Transport Technology Forum’s EV Charging Working Group hosted an in-person event, bringing together local authorities, industry, government and researchers to explore the next phase of public EV charging delivery.
With plug-in infrastructure now scaling through LEVI and other programmes, the session looked beyond deployment to the challenges and choices that come next.
Key topics included:
- Power constraints
- Cross-pavement approaches
- Wireless charging
- Accessibility
- Cyber security
- Procurement practice
- Practical realities faced by councils
The event featured updates from DfT/OZEV, Energy Saving Trust, innovators, charge point operators, alongside a mixed panel exploring how different charging and mobility options fit within real-world networks.
The aim was to provide local authorities and industry a clear understanding of what is emerging, what remains difficult and where support is needed as deployment becomes more complex.
