Collaborative Partnership Award 2026

The Collaborative Partnership Award recognises outstanding partnerships, collaborations, or joint initiatives significantly contributing to the advancement and improvement of the highways and transportation sector.

Criteria:

  • The organisation or partnership must provide a description of the project/initiative, including the aims and objectives of the project/initiative.
  • To what extent has there been collaboration? (shared staff, offices, systems, processes?)
  • What challenges / issues were faced?
  • What were the outcomes?
  • What has been the impact? How has the impact of the collaborative partnership been measured and reported?
  • Has it been a success – How?
  • What have been the benefits of the collaborative partnership?

Tips:

The judges are looking for evidence of:

  • Measurable and substantial positive impacts on the highways and transportation sector.
  • Scalability – is the project scalable and replicable, capable of being adapted to and implemented in other regions?
  • Positive impacts in the following areas:
      – Spending and policy decisions.
      –  Safety, processes, efficiency and costs.
      – Collaborative decision making.
      –  Innovation and technology.
      – An on-going strategy – what is the vision for the future?

Eligibility:

Entries are welcome from collaborative partnerships between councils and the supply chain. Organisations involved in more than one collaborative partnership are welcome to an entry for each collaborative partnership they are working within. There is no limit. Permission must be granted from each organisation within the collaborative partnership prior to submission.

Response limit:

1,500 words maximum.

Submission deadline:

17:00hrs, Friday 21st August 2026.

The DfT Special Recognition Awards are open to all.

Please note that if shortlisted, the Nominated Person will be required to be represented at the awards ceremony on the evening of Wednesday 01 October. Public sector and private sector individual delegate places at the awards evening are available. Book here.
