On Sunday, Mike Wallace, Commercial Operations Manager at Rennicks, took on the most demanding route of the Cheshire Loop 2025, cycling an incredible 100 miles through the Cheshire countryside in support of Halton Haven Hospice.
Not only did Mike complete Route 3, the most challenging course of the event, but he also cycled to and from the starting point at the Hospice. A few unexpected detours along the way meant that by the end of the day, Mike had clocked up an extraordinary 140 miles in total.
Despite the classic British weather (yes, it rained!), Mike said he really enjoyed the ride and was glad he took part. A particular highlight was reconnecting with fellow cyclists from last year’s Tour de Four, another successful fundraiser for Halton Haven Hospice. The sense of camaraderie and shared purpose made a lasting impact.
As he approached the finish line, Mike’s competitive spirit kicked in – and he was proud to be the first rider back. A well-earned moment after a long, wet and rewarding day.
The event brought together over 30 dedicated cyclists – each pushing themselves in support of a cause that provides comfort and care to so many. Together, the group raised an incredible £12,000 for the Hospice.
As the Hospice team shared at the start of the event:
“Each pedal turn today is helping to fund vital care and comfort for the people who need it most. We’re so grateful to every rider, supporter, and volunteer who’s making this event possible.”
Rennicks has congratulated Mike for taking on this challenge – representing them, committing to the training, and raising vital funds for the Hospice.
