Amberon TM | Amberon Ltd receives a RoSPA Gold Achievement Award for Health and Safety

Following its first submission, Amberon Ltd, the nationwide Traffic Management Company head-quartered in Devon is now proudly celebrating achieving the prestigious ROSPA Gold Award.

By achieving this award, Amberon has demonstrated exceptional Health, Safety and Wellbeing management systems to RoSPA, whilst also displaying continuously improving Health and Safety performance alongside its innovative approach to Health, Safety and Wellbeing throughout 2019.

About RoSPA

Following a public meeting in Caxton Hall in 1916 it was decided to elect a London “Safety First” Council to tackle the “alarming increase in traffic accidents, and the direct connection therewith of the restricted street lighting which had been necessitated by the War conditions”.

So began the organisation which was to become the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

RoSPA’s vision is drawn from respect for life and all that it contains – the freedom to enjoy personal choices, health, happiness, wellbeing, relationships, and a huge variety of life-affirming activities.

A vision Amberon shares.

World class practice

Organisations such as Amberon who receive a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in Health and Safety practice. Every year, nearly 2,000 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running Health and Safety industry awards.

The internationally-recognised RoSPA Gold Health and Safety achievement award was presented to Amberon for its commitment to endeavouring to ensure its staff, customers, clients and anyone else affected by its activities get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.

Terry Musson, Managing Director of Amberon told us:

“Here at Amberon we have always strived to have the highest standards of health and safety performance and therefore, to be recognised by RoSPA as having the best systems in place is a real achievement.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said:

“The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations around the world, making it one of the most sought-after global accolades in Health and Safety.

“RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safe in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day.

“The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere. Currently, around 7million people are directly impacted by the RoSPA Awards, but the scheme’s influence is even wider.”

Jeff Quimby, Group head of HSEQ at Amberon also commented:

“This fantastic achievement is in recognition of all the hard work and support which employees from across the Amberon group deliver.

“Practising what we preach has allowed us to demonstrate to RoSPA continual improvement in the key areas of Health, Safety and Wellbeing. The award is a real reflection of the culture within our business and should be seen as a fantastic achievement in what is a very high-risk industry.

“This is another key milestone on our journey to zero harm, but we have a lot more ideas and innovations we are working on to make Amberon an even safer place to work and to ensure that we continuously achieve our safety ethos of Safe Site, Home Tonight”
