Industry experts come together to discuss road repair

LCRIG member Meon were recently joined by a group of industry experts, who came together to discuss a range of topics around Repairing Roads the Right Way. Hot or Cold?

Each panellist had a maximum of 3 mins to present their case on a series of questions. This was followed by a healthy 5 min open debate.

The panel of experts included LCRIG members:

  • Barry Andrews, Technical Lead at SHIMPAC Systems
  • Karl Stopps, Chief Engineer – Civils SME at Telent
  • Hassan Al Nageim, Professor of Structural and Pavement Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University

Across the two day event, hosted at CTEC Academy (Fareham College), the expert panellists and a small group of special guests were presented with live demonstrations and a live recorded discussion panel debate.

Day One started with a full demonstration from Meon’s surface repair specialists using their new-to-market innovative cold applied MMA permanent asphalt repair solution… PermaFyx L273.

Day Two then hosted the main event. The “Project Highways Zero… Repairing Roads the Right Way. Hot or Cold? A view from the Industry Experts” debate was recorded in front of a live audience. Chaired by Matt Lambert, Highways Industry.
