Councils invited to take part in resilience questionnaire

Local authorities are being invited to complete a questionnaire which will help the Department for Transport (DfT) and the UK Roads Liaison Group (UKRLG) understand how Covid-19 has affected network resilience.

Last year, the DfT worked with LGTAG Past President John Lamb to commission a targeted survey of what impact, if any, Covid-19 had on a local highway authority’s resilience and service delivery.

Working with UKRLG, the DfT has commissioned Measure2Improve to carry out a further piece of work. This will gauge the latest position of all highway authorities who have been provided with an online questionnaire. Responses will provide real insight that will support DfT’s understanding of current impacts and long-term investment needs. The information will also serve to help support the development of the Highways Maintenance Self-Assessment, aspects of which may help inform what is best practice / Band 3.

Surveys need to be completed by next Friday (9 April). The results will be discussed at the next UKRLG and shared with colleagues at ADEPT, LGTAG, and LCRIG.
