Highway Care’s Temporary Automated Speed Camera at Roadworks (TASCAR) barrier has been installed for the first time.
The company was chosen by Graham Construction to supply and install 8,200m of the BG800 TSCAR system on the M11 as part of junction improvements for Essex County Council.
The creation of a new junction is to aid the easing of congestion and support economic and housing growth in Harlow and the surrounding area. Along with the new link road, Gilden Way will be upgraded to improve access to Harlow’s road network, help facilitate growth and create better connectivity for residents, businesses and visitors.
Six columns of TASCAR were installed across approximately 5km, on both the North and South carriageways, to aid the major roadworks that are happening on the M11 J7A.
Highway Care was chosen by Graham because of its past experience of integrating barriers with CCTV as well as its ability to supply and install BG800 barrier as a joined-up solution, protecting road workers whilst they carried out these essential major works and to ensure 60mph zones were adhered to.
The TASCAR system enables traffic to flow through this busy area while work continues, in the quickest manner possible but it also ensures speed restrictions are kept to and road workers are kept as safe as possible.
Neology’s Home Office Type Approved (HOTA) Average Speed Solution is already established on Highways England network.
The partnership provides a turn-key offering for contractors working on the Strategic Road Network and Local Road Network, by providing innovation services, including not only Average Speed Enforcement technology, but also through the partnerships’ joint capabilities the following can be provided if required:
