Weekly update from the LCRIG Chief Executive, Martin Duffy

These are exciting times for us at LCRIG and also exceptionally busy. The level of interest in our activities from both local and central Government increases weekly and the same can be said of contractors/product providers.

In addition to supporting other industry bodies by writing an article on collaboration and doing some preparation for a series of webinars, we have now formally lodged our submission to become a Community Interest Company – watch this space!

We’ve also been able to make progress with a framework for small scale road repairs that will be made available to all LCRIG members soon. This will hopefully represent the first of a number of similar frameworks to be procured by members creating a national community of SMEs across England.

Susanne and her team have been looking into how we can better promote the products and services offered by our associate members through events like webinars, the newsletter and other social media outlets to make sure all our members are aware of what the market can offer. In simple terms we are entirely committed to bringing clients, material providers and contractors together so that councils can offer better solutions to meet the growing demands of our stakeholders.
