View from the top: Meeting our milestones

This has been a remarkable week for LCRIG in a number of ways, not least with welcoming Shelley Hainsworth as our Marketing Manager as this role will allow us do so much more. Our growth remains managed and incrementally focused on delivering the Business Plan which sets out an exciting year ahead.

We are making great progress on designing a collaborative management system that complies with the requirements of ISO 44001 with the aim of becoming certified against the standard in the next few months. This will represent a ‘first’ in the UK for a Community Interest Company like LCRIG to achieve certification so it will be another milestone in our development.

What our local authority members will be interested in will be that they are likely to be able to claim level 3 status in the Self-Assessment against Q18 by collaborating with LCRIG even in advance of the certification being obtained.

The LCRIG series of webinars is proving immensely popular and in this edition you’ll be able to hear more from Alec about the ‘#AskDfT’ events that are scheduled. I’m also really looking forward to participating in our next webinar which will feature Fitzpatrick Advisory who will present their unique platform known as DASHA, the smarter cities portal designed by local authority officers for use by local authority officers. For those of you that don’t know Brian Fitzpatrick, tune in, you’ll be in for a treat. You can register for this event here.

It just remains for me to wish you a safe and enjoyable Easter, taking the opportunity to see family where possible, even though outside. Just wrap up well, pop the gazebo up and turn on the gas heater – you’ll never notice how cold it really is.
