View from the top: Innovation Festival opportunities

You will have read in last week’s update information about our upcoming Innovation Festival to be held at Newark Showground in early July. Hopefully, the sun will be shining and spirits will be high as we surround ourselves with the latest innovations that our sector has to offer.

We will be looking to promote innovations that fall into one or more of the categories below:

1. Water Course Management
2. Highway Defect
3. Green Estate
4. Winter Maintenance
5. Transport Technology
6. Retro-reflectivity
7. Health and Safety
8. Fleet & Equipment

Through the LCRIG ‘Steve Berry – Think Exceptional Innovation Fund we will be funding trials for a contractor from each of the categories above who are best able to demonstrate the attractiveness of their product or service. There will be 300-400 attendees, possibly even more and potential exhibitors can now book their place.

LCRIG member councils are committed to collaboration, innovation, communication and participation. For this reason, LCRIG is assured we have the support from the public sector and the DfT to deliver this event.

We will also be welcoming delegates from Tier 1’s, 2’s and 3’s to attend as we want this to be completely inclusive. Delegates will range from the Head of Service/Operations through to the frontline Operatives, Supervisors and Contract Managers.

We would very much welcome and appreciate support from organisations to enable us to deliver this Innovation Festival.

Opportunities include:-

– Innovation Festival Partner
– Evening Networking Event Sponsorship
– Promotional Sponsor
– Exhibitor – Indoor Space
– Exhibitor – Outdoor Demonstration Area
– Sponsorship of a Demonstration Area
– Exhibitor Opportunity

The outcome, actions and opportunities from the Innovation Festival will be shared with the Department for Transport and the highways community on an ongoing basis through our newly appointed Director, Government and Strategy – Paula Claytonsmith.

Innovation is in our name and we are dedicated to continuing to promote and support innovation as we make the case for local roads.

We hope this will be of interest to all of our members and I look forward to seeing you there on the day.
