Members have requested LCRIG to pioneer a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) to enable easier access to and procurement of innovative products, services and technology.
The LCRIG DPS will allow for adherence to best value procurement rules, while making it easier for suppliers to offer access to innovations that are not easily procured. The DPS scope will cover all highways asset management categories and green space maintenance, street furniture, and traffic technology.
To ensure the DPS provides the right products, services and technology innovations, we have started a series of interviews with a number of council members, in order to gain a fuller understanding of your requirements so the DPS can be designed to accommodate these needs. I had previously asked council members to share their views in a previous CEO update, so following the interviews mentioned above I am confident our final design will be fit for purpose.
I’d now like to turn to our associate members who supply product, services and technology and sometimes struggle to gain access to council clients, primarily because of procurement rules, and ask you to let us know, in brief, some of the detail.
Please contact our new Marketing Coordinator, Emily, via the following email; [email protected].
By getting involved you will steer the development of the DPS or otherwise be a passenger on the bus and hope that things work out in your favour.
