You will be required to work flexiblySalary: Grade 6, £22,462 – £25,295 per annum.

37 hours per week

Your role:

As a Technician, you will be one of the key officers responsible for implementing our asset management approach to managing and maintaining our highway infrastructure and network management services. In particular you will participate in/develop innovative projects that focus on asset management principles, highway maintenance and traffic management to ensure Wigan Council maintains its reputation of an excellent authority.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will have experience of highway asset management and maintenance, along with an understanding of traffic management and associated developments.
You will have experience of ensuring services are undertaken and completed in accordance with the relevant construction specifications and be I.T literate.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with the ability to build and develop positive working relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

You should hold a strong sense of purpose, strive to give your best and can collaborate positively with our service providers and communities.

This exciting new role is part of the Network Management services. We play an integral role in managing and maintaining the borough’s highway infrastructure which has a value of £1.6bn. The highway infrastructure plays a key role in allowing residents, businesses and visitors to travel safely around the borough and connect into the wider region.
