Vacancy – Trainee Estimator / Estimator
A fantastic job opportunity has arisen for a hardworking, efficient and enthusiastic Trainee Estimator or Estimator with Civil Engineering or Highways background, based at our Milton Keynes depot.
WJ Group are the UK’s leading specialist road marking contractor and are seeking to strengthen the team in the WJ South business.
Working out of our depot in Milton Keynes, this role is office based and includes visits to site. You will report to the Commercial Manager and will assist him and other Managers and Directors with the preparation of Estimates and Tenders.
You will assist the team with
Generating quotations and inputting PQQ’s and tender submissions for minor and/or major works.
Assisting with the building up of target costs
Producing Scheme Packs for hand over to the operational team
Producing internal costing sheets using Excel based software.
Undertaking site surveys and meetings with clients, project managers and directors as necessary.
General administration to support the team as necessary.
You will preferably have at least 1 years’ experience in an estimating / quantity surveying role within the highway maintenance industry, although this is not essential.
An excellent working knowledge of Excel and a good working knowledge of MS Office for the preparation of company documentation, reports and costing sheets.
Relevant qualifications in Estimating, QS or the Construction industry would be an advantage, however if required, appropriate training will be offered.
Support will be given if currently studying for relevant qualifications i.e. Day release etc.
Salary and package to be agreed based on qualifications and experience.
