Norfolk Highways have opportunities to be part of the highway design teams, delivering a programme of significant improvement projects, from major road infrastructure projects across the county, to a range of sustainable transport improvements within Norwich, including developer funded S278 projects.

NCC are seeking candidates of varying levels of experience: from experienced highways professionals to enthusiastic school leavers looking to develop a career in highways.

Project Engineer – You will be responsible for leading and supervising and small specialised highway design team in the delivery of projects. These will include a programme of significant capital-funded improvements. All potential candidates will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of a range of highway construction projects, including technical capability. There will be responsibility for project management and ensuring all projects are being delivered in accordance with the programme and budget, and for ensuring that all risks are identified and are being managed. Safety awareness will also be essential, particularly with regard to responsibilities under the Construction, Design and Management regulations.

Engineers – You will assist, deliver and guide in the provision of safe and efficient technical highway/civil engineering designs and project delivery. You will own small/medium/large schemes, or as project lead for elements of larger projects. As an experienced engineer you will mentor junior members of the team and deputise for the Project Engineer.

Project Technicians – Entry level roles (Level 2 and 3). Level 2 and 3 Technicians will be experienced and will already have or be working towards a National Certificate in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and Eng Tech professional status.
