The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

Bradford Metropolitan District Council is looking for an Inspector/Senior Inspector to join the friendly Highway Maintenance Team who have responsibility for the maintenance of over 2000km of adopted road network. Reporting to the Senior Engineer and Principal Engineer, you will undertake inspections, surveys and assessments associated with the condition of the highway.

You will also undertake and assist in the supervision of highway works, ensuring compliance with best engineering principles and Codes of Practice, having due regard to health, safety, work planning and budgetary control.

While this post is based at our Stockbridge Depot in Keighley, it will involve a level of mobile working across the Bradford District at all times of the year. So no day will be the same.

A full driving licence and the ability to drive to our different sites throughout the district is essential.
