Still time to submit Qualifying Innovator entries

The organisers of the LCRIG Innovation Festival are reminding participating sponsors and exhibitors that there is still time to apply to be a Qualifying Innovator.

Emerging technology and maintenance solutions will be front and centre at this year’s event which is taking place from 4-5 July at Newark Showground.

The private road network area at the venue will be used to carry out live demonstrations with a bigger exhibition space and demonstration area being used. Industry experts have been lined up to support the event.

The Innovation Festival is an event where products, solutions, new innovations and techniques can be displayed and demonstrated over a range of live demonstration sessions. The event provides local authorities with a chance to find out about new innovations from the supply chain that will help to meet their current and future challenges.

One of the main elements that sets the Innovation Festival apart from other industry events is the fact that qualifying innovators are given the chance to receive funding towards development or to secure trials with local authorities. Sponsors and exhibitors participating in this year’s event have until Friday 2 June to submit their entries with more information about how to do so available here.

Local authorities are invited to score innovations across several different categories. This year’s categories are as follows: Fleet and equipment; Bridges and other structures; Climate resilience; Transport technology; Surfacing; Biodiversity; Traffic Signs and Lines, Street Lighting and Collaborative Innovation.

This year’s LCRIG Innovation Festival is offering winning innovators the opportunity to select one of the following prizes:

– Funding for the development of a solution (up to a max value of £10k)

– Opportunity for a trial with a local authority (trial funded by the local authority, up to a max of £10k and subject to the individual terms of the local authority)

– Market entry consultancy support with a member of LCRIG’s Technical Advisory Panel (TAP) up to a max duration of 2 days (16 hours)

* The successful organisations in each category will also receive one complimentary delegate place at the DfT Special Recognition Awards evening, which will take place on 05 October 2023 at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.
