LCRIG to take part in innovation discussion at Traffex

Representatives from the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) will participate in a panel debate at this year’s Traffex event.

Taking place at the NEC Birmingham from 14-16 June 2022 Traffex is the UK’s largest dedicated traffic management, transport and parking event.

Connecting forward-thinking innovators with central government, local authorities and the traffic and mobility supply chain, the event has been at the centre of the traffic and transport industry for 36 years.

LCRIG Chief Executive Martin Duffy and Chair of the Infrastructure Innovation Board Ian Large will take part in a session in the Transport Network Theatre on Thursday 16 June at 10.20am entitled ‘Practical innovation at the operational level’.

They will be joined by:

  • Sunil Budhdeo, Transport Innovation Manager at Coventry City Council;
  • Iain McDonald, Business Development Director at SRL Traffic Systems.

The panel will cover the following points:

  • What does innovation mean on the ground?
  • Barriers to practical innovation facing local councils and how to overcome these
  • Translating innovation from the senior level to practitioner level
  • Accelerating innovation and increasing buy-in
