The Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) will be exhibiting at a new event next month – Innovation and Technology in Transport – ITT Hub.
ITT Hub is the first event supporting the shift to net zero for passenger and commercial fleets, and will be one of the UK’s first major business events to take place in more than a year, and the first for the road transport sector.
Running from 30 June to 1 July at the Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre, ITT Hub represents a return to live events, with 130 exhibitors confirmed – a number that continues to rise.
The timing of ITT Hub is in line with the anticipated publication of the Government’s Transport Decarbonisation Plan (TDP). The Transport Decarbonisation Plan (TDP) aims to set out in detail what government, business and society will need to do to deliver the significant greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction needed across all modes of transport, with the aim to put the UK on a pathway to achieving carbon budgets and net zero emissions across every single mode of transport by 2050.
Recognising the challenges facing the transport sector as it moves towards achieving net zero carbon emissions, ITT Hub brings together the complete supply chain – manufacturers, operators, infrastructure solutions, energy providers, technology suppliers and policy makers – to explore how this seismic shift will happen.
LCRIG Content Director Alec Peachey said: “Local authorities will continue to play a key role in the push towards net zero with a number of councils declaring climate emergencies. Officers tasked with implementing the required charging infrastructure for electric vehicles face challenges that must be overcome. At ITT Hub, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the huge diversity of resources available to support the government’s green strategy in the Government Hub.”
LCRIG will be located on stand A16 and is sharing a stand with transportandenergy.com
