LCRIG appoints new Events and Relationship Manager (Technology)
The Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) has appointed Gill Butcher as its new Events and Relationship Manager (Technology).
Gill has worked in the technology sector for the last 8 years, organising and attending events across the UK, Europe, India, Canada and the Far East and brings a wealth of experience in event and project management.
In her previous role as External Events Manager, Gill was responsible for creating and managing events from 50 people symposiums to World Congress events with 15,000 attendees.
Talking about her appointment, Gill said: “I am really excited to announce that today (04 January 2022) I have taken up the role of Events and Relationship Manager (Technology) with LCRIG, who work in partnership with the Transport Technology Forum (TTF), run by Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and Innovate UK. I will be working across both LCRIG and TTF and I am greatly looking forward to working with the team at LCRIG, DfT and Innovate UK, plus many others too.
“Reconnecting with the transport community, I have new challenges ahead and will be revisiting some well-trodden paths and event venues. I’ll be in touch with many of the partners in the next few weeks and hope to meet you all soon. You can contact me directly at [email protected] or drop me a message via LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/gill-butcher-b17ab085/message to find out more about plans for 2022 and how you can get involved too.”

A carbon-saving alternative to traditional methods of resurfacing roads is currently being used for the first time by VolkerHighways’ Bath and North East Somerset highways term maintenance team to carry out essential resurfacing works to the A368 at Chelwood, Somerset.
With just one week to go until LCRIG's Innovation Festival takes place at Newark Showground, the final programme for the event has been announced and features a wide range of speakers from across the highways community.
