Innovation Festival in numbers

The inaugural LCRIG Innovation Festival featured plenty of industry firsts and brought together local authorities, central government, the supply chain, associations and academia.

The event took place at Newark Showground on 06 – 07 July and was established to ‘make the case for innovation’.

Here we recap the event in numbers:

  • More than 60 different local highway authorities attended the event
  • The event featured 59 exhibitors
  • Over 450 delegates attended the event over the two days
  • Local authority members have committed to spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on innovation trials with exhibitors
  • Event programme featured 4 discussion sessions
  • 2 updates from the Department for Transport (DfT)
  • 11 live demonstrations outside the main hall showing the latest innovations on offer.

LCRIG Content Director Alec Peachey said: “The event really highlighted innovation in action and there was an exceptional level of interaction between exhibitors, delegates and presenters. We’re really proud to have delivered an industry first event which showed that there is a real passion to deliver innovation across the sector. This can only happen through collaboration and LCRIG looks forward to continuing to work with partners and stakeholders to ensure positive change happens.

We look forward to continuing to highlight innovation at our annual Strictly Highways conference in October and then welcoming everyone back to the festival next year.”
