Another trio of companies join LCRIG
A further trio of companies have joined the Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) as associate members.
VolkerHighways, Joe Roocroft and Sons Ltd and Innovative Global Products are the latest to join and follow on from three companies who joined the organisation last week.
VolkerHighways is an integrated highways service provider operating across London and the South of England. The company’s services include highways term maintenance, street lighting and electrical services, surfacing, traffic management and public realm infrastructure projects. Volker also offer Smart City services, through VolkerSmart Technologies.
Operations Director Jerry Pert said: “VolkerHighways recently attended a joint CECA/LCRIG discussion where Martin Duffy and Susanne Ingham explained in detail the great work LCRIG is doing with local authorities and the DfT, including working on a review of self-assessment, potential adoption of national Dynamic Purchasing Systems and Project Amber.
“As one of the UK’s leading highways infrastructure construction and maintenance providers, we would like to offer our support to this work, bringing practical experience to the LCRIG members from our 60 years of delivering services to local authorities. With the launch of VolkerSmart Technologies, we can bring expertise and delivery experience to the rapidly developing digital and smart City deployment happening through the UK.”
Joe Roocroft and Sons Ltd supply and install vehicle restraint systems in deformable steel and rigid concrete to best suit clients requirements.
They also slipform concrete profiles such as surface water channels and kerbs as well as safety barriers.
David Roocroft, Joint Managing Director of Joe Roocroft and Sons Ltd, said: “We are delighted to become an associate member of LCRIG and look forward to collaborating with the LCRIG community to help deliver a continually improving highway network.”
Finally, Innovative Global Products supply a range of highway repair and maintenance products along with winter treatments for roads.
The company’s goal is to deliver innovative products that reduce the impact on the environment via their performance and production, ranging from its One Fix Asphalt repair product made using recycled plastics to its Ecothaw winter road treatment which enhances the performance of road treatments.
Owner Camillus Dunne said: “As an organisation who supplies products for highways maintenance and winter road treatments LCRIG provides us with the opportunity to communicate directly with those involved in the sector and helps to cut down time searching for the right person to speak with. We are looking forward to sharing and expanding the knowledge base on our business and look forward to meeting other members (possibly in the real world eventually).”
