Job description

Our Streetworks Team is looking for an experienced NRSWA Inspector, to join a small team in discharging our duties under both the Traffic Management and New Roads and Street Works Acts, delivered via a Permit Scheme.

You will assist in the management of those works by ensuring compliance with statutory law and the requirements of our Permit Scheme, in order to minimise disruption to Medway’s road network, ensure that works are done in a safe manner and that reinstatements are undertaken to the correct standard.

Most of your day will be spent out on the network, undertaking inspections and working closely with public utility companies, the Council’s own contractor and members of the public. You will also be required to undertake inspections, in relation to licence schemes, also delivered by the team, which includes, skips and scaffolding.

You will need the ICT skills to go with your practical knowledge, as we work off of mobile devices, live in the field, to provide the most efficient and effective service we can.

You will be a team player, who must have their own vehicle for work use and be willing to assist the Streetworks Manager in the delivery of all the teams work, in order that they can deliver the service required.
