Job description

Main purpose and Scope of the Role

The Specification Engineer is responsible for the specification of GlasGrid Reinforcement
Systems, Asphalt Preservation and Surface Dressing or PPP (Pavement Performance
Products) within an agreed territory of the south of England. They must also establish
plans and strategies to expand the customer territory through the focused specification of
our range of pavement performance products within Local Authorities, and other relevant
bodies.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Develop and implement an annual sales strategy.

Prepare weekly action plans for effective search of leads and prospects.

Regularly prepare PPP specification forecasts for focus across the business.

Update and maintain all customer details on our CRM system.

To attend monthly sales meetings.

Organisation of CPD specification presentations to potential clients in the southern
territory.

Managing specification accounts and building relationships with key personnel in
the southern territory.

Arrange & attend meeting with decision makers within the southern territory
accounts to facilitate the specification of our PPP.

Taking decision makers out to site to see company operations being performed.

To attend sites to meet engineers.

Networking with relevant parties to secure extensive and ongoing PPP business
opportunities

Ensuring internal company functions provide the highest levels of customer service
to the southern territory accounts

Investigate and resolve queries and issues raised by national accounts

Requirements

5 years minimum experience in Highways industry with involvement in specification
to pavement Engineers in the Highway and Airfield Sectors but strong candidates
from other fields will be considered.

Strong Presentation style and ability to provide CPD presentations.

Experience in building business relationships.

Experience in selling to Local Authorities an advantage.

Strong problem-solving mindset.

Understanding of Customer and Market dynamics with an ability to grasp different
procurement methods for specification on highway maintenance.

Capability to managing specification from start to hand over to commercial and
operations.

Driven, proactive personality

Good team player
