How Anti-Reflective Cracking Design Software (ARCDESO) Supports Pavement Design

The webinar will give attendee’s an insight into how ARCDESO pavement software can support them with their pavement designs for overlaying and inlaying jointed concrete and flexible composite pavements. The webinar is CPD accredited.
Cracking in asphalt pavements is one of the biggest problems facing highway engineers today. Reflective cracks destroy surface continuity, decrease structural strength, allow water to enter sublayers and increase noise levels.
Given the nature of reflective cracking, complex analysis is required to simulate crack propagation into and through an asphaltic overlay.

Anti-Reflective Cracking Design Software has been developed to reduce labour intensive pavement investigations for projects and to provide accurate predictions of the pavement’s life after a maintenance option has been selected. The user-friendly software has been developed within a research project carried out between ADFORS Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics and the R&D department of Ooms Nederland Holding. Asphalt Reinforcement Services now has access to this program and will offer support for comparable designs.
At the end of the 30 min session engineers will have strong understanding of the software and how through its analysis of varying design options the programme can arrive at the most economical and carbon neutral pavement designs.
