A round up of events taking place across the highways sector.
LCRIG aims to facilitate the ‘highways community’ by hosting the national calendar of training events and CPD seminars. Help to keep the ‘highways community’ up to date with what is happening in the sector. We also welcome details of Training Events and CPD seminars organised by our Associate Members and Utility Members.
Technical Training Days are delivered by LCRIG to enable members of the ‘highways community’ to come together to learn.
LCRIG works in partnership with industry specific associations and accrediting bodies to facilitate the sharing of technical expertise with the council representatives attending. Previous Technical Training Days have been held in conjunction with the Road Surface Treatments Association (RSTA) and the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) whereby 30 councils (135 attendees) were provided with the technical expertise from the road surface treatment supply chain from 14 speakers on 14 specialist topics.

Online Event | 24th March 2021
HAUC(UK) has announced its Annual Convention which takes places online on 19th and 20th May 2021. The theme is ‘Facing Change Together’.
LCRIG actively organises regional Technical Training Days on behalf of councils and their neighbouring councils. Attendance is generally in the region of 135 people. If you would like your council to be the host of a Technical Training Day, LCRIG will organise the event and invite up to 25 organisations to exhibit and up to 15 organisations to present.
Please just contact LCRIG to provide us with your chosen topics and we will organise and manage the event and work in partnership with the relevant association (Partner Member) and accrediting bodies to ensure CPD accreditation is also provided. This service is free of charge to council attendees and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
The event brings together the highways community, including councils, the Department for Transport (DfT), academia, industry associations, the supply chain and media and enables everyone to learn about new innovation and technology, share experiences, receive updates from the DfT and showcases the industry associations.
The theme for Strictly Highways 2023 centred around ‘Collaboratively Speaking: Sharing Solutions to Meet Local Roads Demands’,.

LCRIG actively organise small CPD seminars for up to 15 attendees with presentations from between 1 to 5 organisations. Just provide LCRIG with the topic(s) required, the venue and the date. We will send a list of the organisations providing the relevant products and services. We will then invite the selected organisations to attend and present. We will also request the required CPD accreditation from the most relevant association (Partner Member).
This service is free of charge to councils and lunch will be provided. Many of our members have conference rooms and training centres that can be utilised. And of course, we have our LCRIG meeting room available too.
